The Quest For the Perfect Travel Bag - Part 1
I’ve been on a quest - an expensive and highly frustrating quest - to find the perfect travel bags. Is it too much to ask to have a bag that is well made, cute, and provides me hassle-free airport travel from start to finish? So far, yes - it has been too much to ask…. until now.
My Uri Minkoff backpack failed me merely 30 minutes into my most recent airport trip.
Is CALPAK Travel the Answer To My Prayers?
My consistent online search for the perfect travel bags served up some pretty competitive Google and Instagram advertising, but I fell prey to just one: CALPAK. I’ve never heard of them before but apparently they’re based in California (hence the name I’m guessing) and have been making some pretty amazing luggage since ‘89.
I never considered myself a backpack girl with work bags, but CALPAK won me over with this stunning laptop backpack that stopped me in my scrolling tracks! This is the Kaya Laptop Backpack in Stone, but they have several other extremely gorgeous colors available.
I was skeptical that the final delivered product would be made well and be able to take a beating, but after a few weeks of using this, I’m EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY impressed.
Let’s put it this way: I’m actually tired of having people stop me to tell me what a beautiful bag this is. It’s like being a celebrity at a supermarket. But at the same time I actually look forward to going to work and organizing my bag now. It’s so much easier to pack and find the things I need for the day.
Craftsmanship is stunning on this Kaya Laptop bag in Stone. It blew me away even before I could take all of the protective hardware wrap off. I just had to snap a shot.
Kaya features really robust, heavy metal hardware that feel like they can handle me. We’ll see…. So far, so good.

Also purchased was the Baye Mini hat box/purse in Gold, and the Murphie Under-Seat Carry-On which I look forward to using on my next plane trip, coming very very soon.
Thusfar, both of these items too feel well made and are just so different from other designs, I just couldn’t help writing about it.
